100 years in 100 seconds

Have a looksie at this cool video. Its promoting the new Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre that opened in London in September 2011. 100 years of East London style in 100 seconds.  We love this, but are shuddering at some of the fashion towards the end!

back to the future

Looking through your old childhood photos is like taking a trip down memory lane. How cute we all were!

Photographer Irina Werning, has taken this even further with her two series of photos - Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II.

Irina cleverly reenacts childhood photos not only re-using the same 'subject', but the same situation, location, and similar clothing and objects.

The result is certainly some cute and quirky photos. Check more of these out on her website. And, if you're keen ... dig up an old childhood photo and try this yourself! ♥

countryside chic

We are drooling over the 'Lady of the Manor' collection at UK online store Joy.

The collection showcases tweed, check-prints, velvet, fur (faux of course!) and delicate florals giving the look a masculine, english-countryside charm with an feminine, aristocratic twist.

Too bad its coming up to summertime in Australia, otherwise we would be all over this look... UK and US friends who are heading into the colder months of the year - take note!

a match made in heaven

Sometimes music video clips can be just as amazing as the song that they are made to complement! A prime example is this music video from emerging Melbourne indie-folk artist, Hudson.  Hudson hooked up with director Dropbear, aka Jonathan Chong, to make this spectacular stop motion video for his dreamy song, "Against The Grain".

They cleverly utilise colored pencils and stop motion techniques to create a kaleidoscope of wonderfulness! We heart! Check it out!

small things amuse all minds

Pay attention to your surroundings, because you never know what you'll find!

The Little people project is part street installation, part photography project, created by UK artist Slinkachu. Abandoning his little peeps in random urban settings, he creates humorous yet contemplative scenes in order to reflect the feelings of being overwhelmed in a big city.

The inventive interactions of the 'little people' within their urban environment are clever, funny, sometimes sad, but also very considered.

Visit Slinkachu's blog page to check out some more of his wonderful installations. He even has a shop page that sells a book and packs of badges (buttons).

Most of the comics on the website are available to buy as prints. They also sell magnet sets so you can make your own comics and stick them on your fridge - we love, love, love!
