If you're in Melbourne, check out the free pre-screening of Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, a documentary which tells the stories of how an asylum seekers path can lead them to becoming a 'boat person'. It includes interviews with many refugees, secret camera footage & gives refugees a chance to voice, in their own words, the circumstances that push them down their given path.
The film-makers of this film are chasing an ambitious goal to be able to take their film on the road to screen in 30 venues across Australia and the only way they can do this is if they raise $60,000 by 1pm this Saturday 27th October - that's less than 50 hours away! So if you'd like to see this story shared across Australia please support them via their crowdfunding campaign which you can find by clicking here.
Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
12 Claremont St, South Yarra
(donations for beer or cider)
If you can’t attend, you may get a chance to view this documentary when they hit the road – but only if we all give generously!
